CONTINUATION OF KMC TUESDAY NIGHT TRAINING

Following last night's successful trial training session with KMC (Kieron McAvoy) it has been decided that these sessions will now continue on a weekly basis.

For those not in attendance last night the session consisted of on track bike work with gates and straights, off track bike sprints and finished with an off track fitness session. It was an intense work out but was well received by all those who took part.
The format used last night will continue with hopefully a few variations when the lower field is available, more off track skills, etc.

The sessions will be run on a monthly basis payable in advance at £15 per month which equates to a little over £3 per week for a two hour session.
Commitment is needed to arrive each week on time so that the session plans can be kept to - if you are unable to make a session or are running late then it would be appreciated if you could make contact to inform us.
We are initially looking for a maximum of 16 riders on a first come first served basis - if supervision allows then this may increase and will be communicated separately.

For the sessions it is advisable to bring with you trainers and training clothes for the off bike part of the session. You will have a short time to get changed out of your riding gear when needed.
Also bring plenty of suitable fluids to keep yourselves hydrated during the sessions.

The first session of this new training structure will take place on Tuesday 28th August 2012 and the first monthly payment of £15 will be due then.

The session will take place both on and off the track and will start promptly at 6:30pm. The track may be closed to normal riding at times when the session is taking place.

NATIONAL SERIES ROUND 2

A fantastic CGR turnout at the weekend with 27 riders registered from the Club, two of these racing both days on cruiser & 20" - so a total of 29 CGR entrants. Possibly our biggest single National attendance for many years. Well done all who attended. The team area on the last straight also worked well, if a little busy at times!
Results were mixed over the weekend - some have definately cemented a Worlds qualification place while others, who went out at motos, 1/4s or semis therefore missing out on vital final points, will have to sweat it out until BC list all the qualifiers....
A full list of results will be published once released by British Cycling.

Sunday 5 February 2012

WORLDS QUALIFICATION INFO

As a very rough guide everyone involved should have received an email with their estimated current standing within the Worlds qualifying procedure.
This is based on the lists sent out by BC for 2011 qualifiers against the Round 1 rankings.
It is a very loose guide as some additional riders may have been added to the list & some may not have taken the option to enter.

A definitive list will be produced by BC following National round 2, the positions you have received should only be used as a guide following the completion of round 1.
Top 12 qualify for the Worlds.

If you are involved with qualifying for the Worlds 2012 & haven't received an email please contact: cgrbmx@hotmail.co.uk & the info will be sent out.

NATIONAL ROUND 1 REPORT

Saturday was practice day at Round 1 of the UK BMX National at Manchester's Indoor BMX Arena.
The day closed with the Open SX which had CGR rider Ash Davey dicing with the big boys. Ash was unlucky not to make the semis but rode well in his motos.
Sunday was race day for the rest of the CGR crew including some of our new riders attending their first National, as well as some returning "old boys". Full results & current National rankings are available by clicking HERE
There were some good performances from the CGR riders, many looking for the Worlds qualification spot & quite a few made finals.
Full report soon.......
